Telegraph Media Group has produced a ‘thermal’ cover wrap to promote Age UK’s annual winter campaign ‘Spread the Warmth’.
The front page of the cover wrap, which appeared on every cover of last Saturday’s Telegraph Magazine, has been printed using heat-sensitive thermal inks.
It features actress Lynda Bellingham sitting in a grey living room and the ink’s thermal properties will allow readers to transform objects that they touch in the picture to orange.
Designed with TMG and communications agency Manning Gottlieb, the Age UK campaign aims to raise funds to help keep older people warm in winter, with the use of thermal ink designed to help readers’ see how their donations would be spent.
According to TMG senior creative solutions manager Tristan Taylor the use of thermal ink on a cover wrap is a UK first.
“We are also delighted to have been responsible for a ‘media first’ with the very first use of thermal ink in the UK on our cover wrap.”
He added: The campaign has provided a unique opportunity for The Telegraph to show its continued commitment to innovative commercial activity whilst supporting an extremely worth while cause.
