A few days ago I noticed an Instagram sponsored post for a new mobile colour measurement tool. It’s called the Pantone Colour Match Card. Ideal for people on the go who need to match physical surface colours to a Pantone reference.
Let’s say you’re with a client and they have a previously printed version of something they want you to match to, you can’t take it away as they need it, and you don’t have all your swatch books with you.
You simply download the app on your smartphone (a nice long list of supported devices is available on the Pantone Website). Then simply find a nicely lit area, place the card over the area to be matched and follow the instructions on the screen. You’ll then be presented with a colour match along with some alternatives.
